Sculpture

Nicholas explores sculpture through driftwood and plaster. His wood sculptures are meant to emphasize the naturally curve of the wood. The origin of the wood is extremely important as he only collects from Lake Wylie near his home in Charlotte and Claytor Lake where he spent many summers in his youth. His plaster sculptures are inspired by his figurative work and the geometric play on the human form.
